KAMPUNG PANDAN, KUALA LUMPUR - Five Senior Section teams and six Junior Section teams participated in this year's Drill Competition organised by The Boys' Brigade in Malaysia Kuala Lumpur State Council. Held once every two years in sync with Pesta, this year's competition was held at SMK St. Gabriel's Kuala Lumpur, home of the 4th Kuala Lumpur Company.

3rd Kuala Lumpur's Company's Senior Section Team was led by Corporal Ong Zhexun who commanded a 12-members all-Privates team who made out of 1 and 2 members. The team comprised of Pte. Kieran Kam, Pte. Khoo Ming Jian, Pte. Haans Koh, Pte. Tan Jia Lun, Pte. Tan Zi Hao, Pte. Seanan Yong, Pte. Huong Tai Yu, Pte. Lin Xing Yan, Pte. Kritthakorn Lee Seesuwan, Pte. Chan Qi-Yew, Pte. The Junior Section team was commanded by Chief Junior Leading Boy Roshan Gharpuray who commanded a 9-member team which was trained by Mr. Kenny Teo (WO) and Mr. Edgar Koh (other drill team members names not disclosed for security purposes).

The event, which began with a uniform inspection by officers from "non-conflicting" BB Companies; Mr. George Ong (BBM Headquarters), Ms. Tan Giok Hui (Captain of 1st PJ), and Mr. Aldrin (Captain of 14th KL). As squads completed inspection, they were sent off one by one to carry out their drill sequences in the main drill ground (basically in a basketball court). The judges were from the Malaysian Army.

After a 3-hour long competition, the results announced were as follows:

Junior Section
Champion - 10th Kuala Lumpur Company Team 1
1st Runner Up - 1st Kuala Lumpur Company  Team 1
2nd Runner Up - 4th Kuala Lumpur Company

Best Junior Commander - 10th Kuala Lumpur Company (JNR. Davin Chong)

Section Section
Champion - 10th Kuala Lumpur Company
1st Runner Up - 4th Kuala Lumpur Company
2nd Runner Up - 1st Kuala Lumpur Company

Best Commander - 10th Kuala Lumpur Company (SGT. Jit Lee)

3rd Kuala Lumpur Company was placed fourth in the Senior category and sixth in Junior category. It's the first time since the KL State Drill Competition conception the company has failed to place. Though beaten and bruised, it was a necessary humbling experience for their company in order to become better. The Boys were still proud of those who were bold to represent the company in the competition despite the lack of training.
